Do you ever get tired of what’s old? We all reach a point where we’re just looking for something new: new opportunities, new jobs, new friends, new appetites. We outgrow what once was and seek to go to another place.
We’re just coming into the month of November and sometimes the month is met with mixed feelings. On the one hand, November begins to get colder as we move into the beginning of winter. On the other hand, it becomes a time of festivals and celebrations. The leaves are changing. It is the beginning of shifting.
Things aren’t just changing seasonally, but spiritually too. Revelation 21:5 says, “And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’ Also he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’” God is beginning to make all things new. This is a time for new alignment, appreciation, appetite, aptitude, anointing, ability, and agreement. When God makes things new, He does new things in His people. New doesn’t just mean what is new around you, but it starts with what’s new in you. Your desires for Him will change, your capacity will change, your mind will shift, and you will think differently.
With things being made new comes a greater anointing. And with a greater anointing comes the need for a greater depth. When you anticipate the “new,” you begin to prepare for it:
Go Deeper! Seek after God and His face. Be disciplined. Increase your prayer, fasting, and meditation, not necessarily in time, but in intentionality. Make every moment with God significant. Talk to Him as well as listen. Write down what you receive and meditate on what He is saying.
Give God a Full Yes. Sometimes when we hear instructions from God, we give him a delayed yes, a murmuring yes, or a yes with stipulations, but when He wants to take us to a new place, He requires greater responsibility with a greater attitude. Sometimes our response comes out of fear or uncertainty, but you never have to be afraid. If God is giving you an instruction, He will certainly be with you every step of the way to make it happen.
Gain Boldness. New things come with the ambiguity of the unknown. Sometimes what is to come requires a leap of faith, even if it’s everything you’ve been hoping for. Be bold in it!
Grow Your Faith. It’s not easy to completely trust in God especially when you have no idea where He’s taking you. Whenever you get doubtful, remember that He would never instruct you to go anywhere that would lead in sabotage. Even if you experience a setback, it won’t be permanent. Keep going and trust that He knows what He’s doing!
Get Submerged. Let God submerge you in Him and His Spirit. Seek Him and His face over everything else. Receive all He has to give. Some days you may just sit down and let Him love you. You don’t have to work for it. It’s a gift, not a loan. Let Him fill you up!
We are in Newvember and great things are already happening. God isn’t just doing a new thing, but He’s making all things new. Get ready and be on post. It’s happening!
